Be the person God wants you to be.
Find your Purpose. No one else can do the job you were designed to do.

I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
    your works are wonderful,

 Peace be with you,
This is my 6th year working with your children at ACS teaching Math and working with technology.

I completed my Masters in Secondary Education in January, 2019 from Grand Canyon University.

Prior to teaching at ACS, I was a Lateral Entry Business and Technology teacher in Charlotte   and Jones County in North Carolina.

My first job after graduating from New Mexico State in Las Cruces moved me across the country where I became the MIS Director  and Technology instructor at Carteret Community College in Morehead City, NC.

I earned my MBA from Wake Forest University and had a 17 year career with First Union National Bank as a Project Leader in Information Technology, training, support, systems development and corporate reporting.

After leaving the bank, I resumed my first love of teaching.

I am MOS certified in WORD, EXCEL and PowerPoint.

My wife is  Jodi and we were married in 1983.  We raised 8 children as foster parents and now claim 10 grandchildren. I was born in NY, spent my teenage years in New Mexico, lived a short time in California and have called North Carolina home since 1981.

I have been a Team Leader  with  TheEdgeInstitute.org (TEEI.org) since 1998
 conducting cultural and educational exchange programs between China and the United States.

I was awarded the First Union Excellence in Education Award for service to the Charlotte, NC schools; chess, reading, and Junior Achievement programs. I love teaching and promoting  scholastic chess and am a certified USCF Tournament Director.

I have also  served as a coach, regional and state judge for Odyssey-of-the-Mind, a problem solving competition. (NCOM.org)

My other interests are: travel, reading, cooking, poetry, helping others, sharing about China and the restoration of my home and Jodi’s art studio  in the Historic Riverside neighborhood of New Bern, NC.
